Whilst the Swansea Bay Region (comprising of the area including Neath Port Talbot, Swansea and Carmarthenshire) has a wealth of attractions - including the fantastic natural environment, beaches and parklands, a maritime quarter, a lively social scene, and great cultural and sporting opportunities - many people outside of Wales are not aware of what the area has to offer... and in particular the excellent quality of life that you can find here.
Positive action to address the issues of improving both the awareness and image of the City and the whole area is required in order for the region to achieve its potential, and Swansea Bay Futures works to deliver this.
Swansea Bay Futures is a not for profit company, limited by guarantee, and is managed by a board of directors drawn from across the public and private sectors. It receives support through partnership agreements with companies and organisations that have an interest in seeing the area achieve its potential and are prepared to work with the company to help achieve the goals set out.
Since April 2011, Swansea Bay Futures has been working even more closely with Swansea University, delivering services which will assist the development of the new Science and Innovation Campus and to maximise its impact for the region. This work is being undertaken alongside the company's core brief as the Science and Innovation Campus development is probably the most significant opportunity on the horizon through which to raise the profile of Swansea Bay and positively impact on the regional economy.
