Afan Forest Park keeps going from strength to strength. Afan Forset Park's 2009 figures show that over 80,000 mountain bikers visited the Forest Park, all wanting to try what many have quoted, as some of the 'best trails to ride in the world'.
The figures also showed that Afan Forest Park was also a popular destination for walking, visited by thousands each year.
The Canadian journalists had the opportunity to experience what Afan Forest Park has to offer, as part of the Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC) annual conference to Wales organized by Visit Wales.
This will be the fist time for the conference to be held outside of Canada. Their visit included a guided walk of the forest park and also lunch in the newly renovated Afan Lodge.
Leader of Council, Ali Thomas, says, 'We are delighted to be welcoming the delegates from the TMAC annual conference to Neath Port Talbot.
"It's great to see that we are attracting visitors from all over the world to the area and we are looking forward to showing them the work that Forestry Commission Wales and ourselves have undertaken over the years to develop the area into a well know outdoor activity destination."
