The Otesha Project UK is a youth-run charity that encourages young people to create social and environmental change through their everyday actions.
Combining sport and the arts to mobilise young people to address the impacts of lifestyle not only on ourselves and our communities but also the world around us, Otesha provides simple and creative ways to create a
cleaner, greener, fairer world.
And every summer, Otesha invites teams of people hop on bikes and travel across the UK, stopping at schools and communities along the way to deliver their sustainable environment message.
Team members perform the Otesha Morning Choices play, run workshops, learn about environmental and social sustainability, and generally make the world a better place.
While on tour Otesha cycle tour members learn to live as low-impact as possible, changing their own lifestyles as they challenge the people they meet to do the same.
Applications for Otesha Project 2009 summer cycle tours are now open! People aged 18-28 are invited to straddle their saddles and join the tours around England, Scotland and Wales.
The Welsh leg of the tour takes place in June and July.
The Wild West - The wild, wonderful coast of Wales with beautiful beaches, crashing coastline, leafy green cycle paths, undulating hills. The tour includes a learning day or three at the Centre for Alternative Technology,
Howies - the ethical clothing company - and a permaculture farm. Plus a chance to meet really, really friendly Welsh people.
