Come and explore a unique tropical haven of wonderful plants and animals situated in the heart of Swansea. From insects, reptiles, fish and monkeys to bananas, pineapple plants, prickly cacti and giant bamboo.

Come and learn how to survive in the jungle and experience some of the jungle critters first hand. Four shows a day 10.30am, 12.00pm, 2.00pm and 3.15pm, booking required.

Egypt Centre - University of Wales Swansea

The Egypt Centre is the largest collection of Egyptian Antiquities in Wales.  Hands-on activities are available as well as an exciting display of Egyptian artefacts including weapons, jewellery, coffins and much more.

Children’s Half-term Holiday Workshops (Suitable for age 7-10)

Tues 14th February, Treasures of the Nile
Become an archaeologist for the day!

Wed 15th February, Living in the Field of Reeds
Activities include: mummification, weighing of the heart, making clay servant figures and food offering trays
for the afterlife.

Thurs 16th February, Never smile at a crocodile!
Learn the role of animals in ancient Egypt. Activities include: Animal headed gods and goddesses, animal mummification, making animals masks and designing a ‘Devourer’!

Fri 17th February, Patterns of the Nile 
Learn about body decoration in life and death. Search for treasure in the galleries looking for repeated patterns, symmetry and colours used on ancient Egyptian objects. linebreak

WWT National Wetland Centre Wales

Set in a 450 acre mosaic of lakes, pool and lagoons created on the scenic Burry Inlet, WWT National Wetland Centre Wales is home to many hundreds of wild and resident species. Water vole city and the Millennium discovery centre are also unmissable attractions.

National Botanic Garden of Wales

Throughout the year the Garden hosts a lively programme of art, music, dance and theatre as well as its regular attractions and trails.

13- 14th February, Grow Your Own days. What needs to be done at this time of year to grow salad and veg?

16th and 17th February, Crafts for the Garden days. Decorate your garden by making fun things such as a Scarecrow Heads, colourful plant labels and a Welsh Potty Woman, a fantastic creation for the upcoming St David’s Day.

15th February is Grape Escape Day. Come and make a raft out of plants then sail it down the Garden’s beautiful rill.

Swansea Community Farm

The Swansea Community Farm is a place where people of all ages can learn about the environment, organic gardening and animal care whilst taking an active role in the community. With a Child and Youth Project, Volunteer Project, Animal Project, Education Project and the development of the Home Compost Demonstration Area, the Farm is buzzing with achievement and activity!

Gower Heritage Centre

Set in the heart of the Gower Peninsula in South West Wales. The Centre is a visitor attraction and rural life museum based around a working 12th century water-mill. Check out the craft shops and activities, old fashioned games arcade, sandpit area, adventure playground, soft play area, tractor play area, an animal farm and 'La Charrette' Wales' smallest cinema.

11-19th Pirate Week

Our popular Pirate theme week returns for the half term holiday. Join our Resident pirates as they storm the bouncy castle pirate ship, search for lost gold and battle over their treasure. Story telling craft activities and lots more.
