A new steak house is coming to Gorseinon and along with it, up to 40 new jobs.
Located at the former Riverside building on High Street in Gorseinon town centre, the new steak house restaurant will be made up of a main dining area and a separate, private dining area.
The Seager family, from Gorseinon, who already run two other award-winning restaurants – the Bryngwyn in Pwll, Llanelli, and the Grill House in Waunarlwydd, are hoping to bring the historic building back to life with their new venture.
A restaurant supervisor, waiting staff, bar staff, grill chefs and grill chef assistants are all needed to start work in Seagers at No 1 High Street, which is due to open in March, 2018.
General manager Lee Seager will run the new restaurant, bringing the total number of people employed by Seagers Restaurants to nearly 100.
Lee, age 31, said: “Many years ago, we used to run a business based in the same building that was also called the Bryngwyn, so it’s great to be coming home.
“Not only will Seagers at No 1 High Street open up close to 40 new jobs for local people, but it will also meet the need for restaurant dining in the Gorseinon area.
“Refurbishment work at the historic building is now well under way, as we look to sympathetically restore it, while providing an accessible to all, 21st century steak house dining experience.”
Hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of investment means the outside of the building, which is also traditionally known locally as the bottom hotel, is being re-rendered and insulated.
Internal works paving the way for redecoration and refurbishment include the introduction of new flooring, complete rewiring and the installation of WiFi.
Powered by a new boiler, original radiators and pipes have been restored, with extensive car parking spaces being retained at the back of the building.
Anyone interested in making enquiries about the new jobs being made available is asked to email firstname.lastname@example.org or to call Lee Seager on 07563 553089.
