Coastal Housing Group

With over 5000 properties, Coastal provides homes for rent and for sale, whilst also providing support for older people, people who require adapted homes and people who need help managing their tenancy.

Coastal’s aim is to provide homes and services that enable their tenants and the communities in which they live to thrive and prosper

The Swansea based housing association is also an expert in urban regeneration and believes in the lasting social and economic benefits that come from the creation of both new homes and commercial premises.

Coastal Housing, working alongside its partners in the local authorities and the Welsh Government, delivers high quality mixed-use developments which focus on urban regeneration by attracting new businesses and building thriving communities which enable people to work and live affordably.

Current developments include the £25m Urban Village scheme and the £8m Castle Quarter scheme.

The Urban Village is Coastal’s flagship scheme for the regeneration of Swansea’s High Street. Comprising 76 flats for social rent and five floors of office and retail space the urban Village is home to the South Wales Evening Post, and a number of independent businesses as well as over 100 of Coastal Housing’s Swansea based staff. The next phase will see the construction of the Creative Cluster, which will provide affordable and cutting-edge space for small, independent creative businesses.

The Castle Quarter scheme, situated next to Swansea Castle, is currently under construction. Once complete Castle Quarter will consist of 26 affordable, rented apartments, with a further four duplex units overlooking the castle for sale. The ground floor will consist of commercial units, aimed at the restaurant /bistro market, and a kiosk located at The Strand.

Due to its urban regeneration expertise Coastal has been chosen to work with its partners the City and County of Swansea, Neath Port Talbot CBC, Bridgend CBC, on their forthcoming Vibrant and Viable Places regeneration schemes.

Coastal Housing Group, with its focus on regeneration and place, people and communities, aims to play its part in sustaining the local economy and contribute to the success and growth of Swansea Bay, making it a better place to live, work and visit.
