Fall Bay on the Gower peninsula has received national recognition as one of the best quiet beaches in the UK

Fall Bay was one of two welsh beaches selected in the list of ten that highlights quiet beaches which might involve packing a picnic or wearing suitable working shoes to get there but are definitely worth the extra effort to get your own little spot on the beach.

The Guardian wrote “By taking a one-hour, round-trip walk from Rhossili village centre you will discover a perfect secluded beach, with golden sand and southerly aspect. Although popular with surfers at certain times of the day, it is still one of the largest and most isolated beaches on the Gower.”

The Gower has over 50 named beaches, bays and coves, the choices are as naturally beautiful as they are diverse. Golden, sandy beaches such as Rhossili, Llangennith, Oxwich and Whiteford mean you can walk to your heart’s content or just relax and enjoy the magnificent views.

The Guardian wrote “There are no amenities so take some water and snacks if you want to stay for the afternoon. And don’t forget to wear good shoes, as it’s a bit of a scramble to get to.”
